Base Team Rider Tim Herbert Qualifies for US Junior Nationals10 Mar 2008 - Young Base Freeride Team member Tim Herbert has qualified for the US Junior Nationals after taking home 2 Golds this past weekend at Wolf Mountain Utah Young Base Freeride Team member Tim Herbert has qualified for the US Junior Nationals after taking home 2 Golds this past weekend at Wolf Mountain Utah in GS and Slalom. Tim has had a strong run leading up to last weekends event with strong placings over the last few weeks. Tim's first event was GS, Slalom, Slope Style and Halfpipe where he scored a 2nd GS, 3rd Slalom, 13th HP and 18th SS at Park City Utah. He then traveled to Brighten and competed in Slope Style where he placed a very respectable 7th. Then it was off to Wolf Mountain for another Slope Style event finishing 6th, improving his placing again. Then weekend before last he went to Sun valley in Idaho for a Slope Style and Halfpipe, the Slopestyle course was all rails and no jumps but again Tim improved with a 5th place. And with the pipe at Park City( Tim's base for this trip) closed to the public for a world cup event Tim did extremely well with little to no practice finishing 11th. All these events are against the same group of riders, with some of Americas best riders competing along with Australia's junior champ. Tim has shown great progress and the BASE crew are looking forward to seeing Tim in action in NZ this winter.
